I've been here for the past 6 months, Bordeaux is a really nice place with extremely friendly people. Great shopping range, although to be honest the best buys would be during the sale, as not everything here is really worth it 'price-wise'. Those who don't speak fluent french, like myself, try to avoid the elder generation who tend to be a bit annoyed when asking for directions etc in english.. although it is always appreciated when they see you trying to speak their language, even if it is just a few sentences. The french are really amongst the nicest people I've met, contrary to common belief - very open minded, caring and love to get to know people from different cultures.
