I have been in Paris for one semester and I have one semester to go. There is a lot to be said about Paris, first of all it is truly one of the most beautiful cites in the world. The food, patisseries, atmosphere, shopping and the people are amazing. But the best of all it is that is is very affordable comapring to London.
Even though Paris is amazing, there are some diffuculties. First of all, finding accommendation, you have to start really early to look. Paris is a tourist city, there is not much to do excepet for sightseeing, eating and drinking coffee. Also, eveything is very very very slow here, the French menatlity is very hard to work with if you are used to getting things done fast. Paperwork takes for ever, standing in line in a shop takes for ever and just to get service is very hard, so be prepared for that.
When it comes to the workload at school, it is diffrent from school to school. I am student at ISC Paris and there is nothing to do and as an exchange student it is very easy to pass if you get along with the teachers.
When it comes to the French people, they are very nice and helpful, but not the students. Nobody wants an ERASMUS student in heir group and it is very hard to make friends. Also the language, to be honest I have not learned as much French as I had hoped for.
What I have done here is that I have been working as a Au pair to fill out time, and is very easy to find babysitting jobs. My tip is to take the Metro to The American Church In Paris, metro invalids, quai d'orsay, and take a look at the adds there. There you can also find alot of adds for accomendation.
To summerize this, I did not and I still do not like Paris. I would not recommend Paris for anyone to be honest.
